This is where you come in:
Due to a recent payroll transformation, we have created this new and exciting role. The role is not your traditional end to end payroll processing function! It will predominantly manage the relationship with an external payroll provider, whilst ensuring data integrity at all times, as well as providing advisory support to managers and employees across the business. This means it would be essential to have a general understanding of payroll, EBAs as well as employment law including modern awards. Essentially you will be performing all activities necessary to process weekly and monthly payrolls for Australian and New Zealand employees, including maintaining employee-related records, filing, tax and superannuation reports, preparing accounting transactions and documents, and preparing special reports for management.

About the role:
  • Part-time role spread across 5 days with reduced hours OR 4 days - we can be flexible to accommodate the right candidate 
  • Review and import employee records into the payroll system.
  • Check figures for accuracy and necessary approvals.
  • Review payroll documentation for accuracy and make any necessary adjustments and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Communicate with Human Resources to ensure the integrity of the payroll data related to new hires, terminations, transfers and rate changes and make updates as necessary.
  • Process special payrolls such as annual bonus and year-end adjustment payrolls.
  • Research and resolve questions from managers and/or employees as they relate to the processing of payroll information such as allowances, employment verifications, worker’s compensation, tax questions, superannuation and/or other changes.
  • Maintain the Super clearinghouse information.
  • Regular payroll reporting as required.
  • Assist in special projects.

  • A demonstrated proactive problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent time management, organisation and prioritisation with the ability to adhere to tight deadlines – when you’re working in payroll, deadlines are non-negotiable!
  • High attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • UKG (Kronos) WorkForce Ready - preferred
  • ADP Payforce – essential
  • New Zealand Payroll/HR experience is preferred 
  • Sound knowledge across the Microsoft office suite.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in computerised payroll processing.
