This is where you come in… 
We are looking for a packaging technologist to lead the design and development of packaging within applicable pet food categories at our Ingleburn site. This role will drive packaging innovation, renovation, improvement, sustainability, and efficiency implementation projects. This is an end-to-end packaging role with the opportunity to truly make it your own across all things packaging; from tenders to NPD, to efficiency projects. 
Responsibilities include: 
  • Deliver all packaging projects in full and on time 
  • Identify, research and put forward packaging innovation projects 
  • Technical input into the artwork procedure 
  • Drive packaging implementation at the site of manufacture 
  • Work in efficiency-improving initiatives  
  • Work with factory QA teams on setting standards and resolving Quality issues 
  • Support commissioning of new packaging lines 
  • Lead packaging trials and implementations across multiple manufacturing sites 
  • Support and advance the Packaging Sustainability Strategy and its associated targets and concepts 
  • Develop and maintain Packaging Specifications for all applicable categories 
The ideal candidate: 
  • Packaging experience within FMCG industry or similar 
  • Ability to communicate effectively between internal stakeholders and external stakeholders across all organisational levels 
  • Confident in the translation of technical detail into packaging concepts and vice versa
  • Proactive in the design of new packaging innovations and the identification of continuous improvement opportunities – both within the manufacturing process and the packaging materials 
  • Experience in dealing with design houses, printing houses, packaging material suppliers, and packaging machinery suppliers 
  • Previous experience leading complex projects, with multiple stakeholders, across different geographical locations 
  • Great attention to detail, yet creative 
  • Ability to work autonomously, and self-directed 
  • A team player with a highly collaborative style 
  • Experience working within sustainability agenda, or a passion for sustainability
